"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good: Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no lack to those who fear (revere and worship) Him! The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who see the lord shall not lack any good thing." Psalm 34:8-10 He is the God of all love and all provision. How He cares for us. Jehovah Jirah is His name; the Lord my provider. One day I happened to have ingredients to make a cake; a simple box of spice cake mix, a can of pumpkin, one egg, and some water was all I needed. I planned on fine-sifting some confectioners sugar on top as a low calorie frosting choice. Do you ever think you have what you need on hand only to come up empty-handed? No 10X sugar in the cupboard. No big deal. Just a small desire. The next day a lady gave me a little bag of groceries she felt to share. (She knew nothing of my pumpkin cake "frosting" desire) In the bag were some potatoes, hot chocolate mixes, and...are you ready? A BOX OF CONFECTIONERS SUGAR! That provision just didn't "happen". My "Daddy", my God and Father is the One who loves to surprise me with His sweetness. Yet another "sign" to me of His ever present love and grace. Taste and see for the Lord IS good! Look around and discover His hand in fresh new ways upon your life. He is full of surprises especially when we learn to live from a place of child-like wonder and faith in His goodness! So, the next time you come up empty-handed and unable to fill a need in your life or in the life of another, don't get anxious or afraid, just begin to "Give thanks for the Lord is good!"
