How great is the goodness of God!

Psalm 31:19 Oh how great is Your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! New King James

The Psalms of David are rich with revelation. David, a poor shepherd boy made king, traveled down many a long and winding road. He triumphed over the Philistines and then lost the battle of lust over Bathsheba. He was honored and loved as King, but he also had to run for his life more than once. Through His experiences David developed great intimacy with God. His writings reflect the inspirational working of the Holy Spirit in His heart.

Today’s verse must be prayed with exuberance and thanksgiving. “Father God, You are so great and kind and loving! You have stored up such gladness, beauty, and blessings (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance) for those who reverence and worship you! You have even PREPARED for Your goodness to be manifested in our lives so that others can see it as we TRUST in you!”

In my own life I can truly proclaim these words! Falling daily into the arms of the Father, worshiping Him for who He is, and trusting in His faithful love for me, I experience His goodness over and over again. Look with expectation for His goodness! It is there in the sunshine and rain, in your daily needs being met, in your family and friends, and so much more.

May this be a day that you lay hold of the truth in David’s heartfelt worship and declare the goodness of the Lord over your life! And, if for some reason you have not been honoring him in your life, not truly trusting in His goodness and love… simply repent (turn from sin), and start over! Never underestimate the power of His love for you or His willingness to forgive you!

Worship Jesus, He is worthy! Trust in Him, He is faithful!
